PUNTA DEL ESTE, Uruguay-- In a city famous for summer parties, the Freixenet Cava event will be remembered as one of the best of 2016.
Almost a thousand guests gathered in the gardens of Punta del Este's Grand Hotel on Saturday January 9th to celebrate.
Attendees enjoyed an exquisite menu of various meats and pastas, as well as cheeses and cold cuts accompanied by Freixenet Cava, of course!
Cava is sparkling wine produced in the Penedès region of Catalonia in the traditional champenoise method. The Freixenet winery is in the village of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia (population 12,600).
Freixenet’s most popular cava, Cordon Negro Brut (shown above), is the #1 imported sparkling wine in the world.
After midnight, a performance by saxophonist Tamara Kreimer entranced the guests. Then the dancing began--with international DJ Javier Misa selecting the music.
